Denmark is the Champion of Europe

After Alex Lanier got the first win beating Jakob Houe 21-9 and 21-15 in men’s singles, the Danes took over. Benedicte Sillassen equalized the match with an undisputed 21-13 21-10 victory over Emilie Drouin before Jakob Houe and Christian Faust Kjær gave the Danes the lead with a win in men’s doubles. After a close 21-19 against Mael Cattoen and Lucas Renoir, the Danes increased the tempo and won 21-10. The women's doubles turned out to be a thrilling battle between the two teams. Benedicte Sillassen and Maria Højlund Tommerup won the first game 21-17 but the French pair, Elsa Jacob and Camille Pognante, came back to take game two 21-17. In the decider, the French were already leading 19-18 before Sillassen and Tommerup scored three points in a row to win the game.
The five EJC Belgrade 2022 days concluded with the spectacular Awards ceremony where Mr Brian Agebark, secretary general of the European Badminton Confederation and Mr Radomir Jovović, president of the Executive Board of the Badminton Association of Serbia presented medals and trophy to the best European national teams: Denmark, France, Spain and Ukraine.
Right after the medal ceremony, the first rounds of the individual event began.
